• About The ESCeL eLearning Platform

Education and scientific activities are means by which the ESC fulfils its mission - to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease - with the congress and meetings being the traditional delivery channel. Today, the internet is another potential channel that can be developed as a rich communication and long distance learning medium that reaches far beyond geographic boundaries.

To respond to educational demands, the ESC now offers an online education platform to General Cardiology and Cardiology Specialities, which implements the curricula, to set the professional standards of cardiology practice and patient care. The initiative enhances the value of ESC content and strengthens the speciality of cardiology via the delivery of curricula and the harmonisation of training. A key point is that educational content is mapped to the curricula i.e. knowledge, skills, and professionalism.
