ESCeL (European Society of Cardiology e-learning platform) is operated and maintained by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and accessible from the ESC Web Site.
The content of the ESCeL courses was produced after careful consideration of the scientific and medical knowledge, and the evidence available at the time of their publication. Although the ESC and its associations attempt to keep the ESCeL up to date, some of the material may not be up to date. The ESC makes no representation, nor gives any warranty about the accuracy or effectiveness of any research findings, medical procedures or facts contained in any content, however displayed or depicted on this site. The ESC is not responsible in the event of any contradiction, discrepancy and/or ambiguity between the content and any other official recommendations or guidelines issued by any relevant public health authorities, in particular in relation to good use of healthcare or therapeutic strategies. Healthcare professionals are encouraged to take the content, and all ESC publications fully into account when training and when exercising their clinical judgment, as well as in the determination and the implementation of preventive, diagnostic or therapeutic medical strategies; however, this does not override, in any way whatsoever, the individual responsibility of health professionals to make appropriate and accurate decisions in consideration of each patient’s health condition and in consultation with that patient and, where appropriate and/or necessary, the patient’s caregiver. Nor does the course content of the ESCeL exempt health professionals from taking into full and careful consideration the relevant official updated recommendations or guidelines issued by the competent public health authorities, in order to manage each patient’s case in light of the scientifically accepted data pursuant to their respective ethical and professional obligations. It is also the health professional’s responsibility to verify the applicable rules and regulations relating to drugs and their doses, and medical devices at the time of prescription.
The ESC, to the maximum extent permitted by law, disclaims all liability for any injury to any person incurred as a consequence of any information displayed in the ESCeL. The ESC shall not, therefore, be liable for any direct, indirect, special, consequential, or economic damage, whether in contract, in tort, or otherwise, arising from the use of the ESCeL or the reliance on any of the information displayed within it, or any other websites to which it may be linked.
